We’re ready to roll for the final HPM match of the season. We’ve got 40 shots prone, steak, BBQ salad, fire roasted corn, and fresh steamers….all for the low,low price of $15. Please RSVP–if you haven’t already–and be sure to bring a steak knife and a good fork (the kind for stabbing meat) unless you’re comfortable with the plastic variety of utensils. Oh yeah, bring your customary beverage, as well. It’s sure to be the best time you’ve had at a rifle match all week…guaranteed or your money back. PLEASE arrive early as we are going to try and commence firing 6pm.

The other day I learned that my home-owner’s insurance (Arbella Mutual) has a cap of $2,000 on stolen firearms. My agent told me that it is quite common for many insurance companies to do this and if you have firearms worth more than the cap amount, you might consider purchasing a rider for the policy. The rider costs approximately $5 per thousand and covers the firearms if they are stolen, lost, or damaged. So, $10,000 worth of coverage would cost you $50 per year. You can also add other pieces of equipment to the rider such as spotting scopes, rifle scopes, and shooting clothing. Obviously each insurance company’s policies will be a little different, but in general I thought purchasing a rider to cover my equipment seemed like a pretty good idea. It might be worth checking with your insurance agent to see what your coverage is.
We had great conditions last night, clear and calm. It’s beginning to get darker earlier so plan on starting to shoot at 6pm next week (the last match). Erik Hoskins won last night with a 400-36x and I was second with a 400-35x. Nice shooting Erik. Complete results can be viewed here.
